Thy Kingdom Connected: What the Church Can Learn from Facebook, the Internet, and Other Networks (emersion: Emergent Village resources for communities of faith)

The title alone makes me want to follow it all the way to its release date. Coming soon to a bookstore near you.

Let's start with the obvious: I'm not impatient in the fruit of the Spirit kind of way. I'm just impatient in the hasten the kingdom, make every moment count, don't waste your life kind of way.

Psalm 39:4 says it best: Show me, O LORD, my life's end and the number of my days; let me know how fleeting is my life.

Ultimately, I'm just trying to live a life of urgency and expectancy, seeking the kingdom of God in very practical ways. And in the process,  I'm hoping to equip a few saints to do the same.

By God's grace, I am a husband of one and a father of four. My wife Karyn is the most beautiful, talented, gracious person I know, and my precious children -- Quinn, Xander, Kayne & Kore -- remind me daily just how quickly time passes.

Vocationally, I serve as the lead pastor of Church of the Good Shepherd, a missional community of the Anglican Mission in America. Sharing life together in Davidson, North Carolina, we are waiting, watching, and working for the return of Christ. There is nothing in this world I would rather do.

Alright, enough about me; the kingdom of God is at hand. Let's get at it.
